The Shade of a Tree

Solo piano by Manolo González

The Shade of A Tree is the title of a beautiful solo piano piece, composed and played by my friend Manolo González. I thought of this pencil on paper of an Underwood typewriter I had drawn some time ago, as a good visual metaphor of the piano. I didn’t want to just put a static image and let the music play, so I used the keys of the typewriter to write the title of the song and make a kind of visual metaphor, that’s why every time a music note sounds I tried to push a key of the typewriter at the same time, as if the typewriter was also a piano.

And this is how it sounds.
